Queensland Multicultural Awards 2015

For 25 years, the Queensland Government have presented the Multicultural Awards in various categories to recognise individuals, businesses and community organisations who work to promote multiculturalism and harmony in Queensland.

The 2015 awards were held this year as part of Queensland Multicultural Week (23 - 30 Aug, 2015). The Townsville Multicultural Support Group (of which Sheila Hawthorn (Grail Townsville) is President) was one of three finalists in the Business Excellence category*, and Sheila herself was one of four finalists in the Multicultural Ambassador category. This prestigious award recognises individuals who have demonstrated an outstanding and sustained commitment to promoting the values of multiculturalism and supporting harmonious community relations.

Congratulations Sheila on this very worthy recognition of your work.

*In 2010, the TMSG received the Community Organisation Award.
