An Afternoon of Conversation and Action Arising from Issues Raised by Sr Joan Chittister

June 18, 2022 @ 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm

$5 – $10

"What does it mean for you to "Stand Up and Speak Up" with a heart that puts LOVE in front of LAW to shape a Church and Society more clearly based on Gospel Values and Vatican II Directions?"

(Derived from Sr Joan Chittister's words 3 June 2022, St Ignatius' Women's Night of Spirituality)

The Brisbane Grail feels the sense of NOW that John Chittister conveyed. Many of us have long been aware of things that we feel are wrong or lacking in Church and society, but have often done little to share these insights or make them known in the proper places. It's about active participation in building up and growing through the Plenary Council towards a more listening, speaking SYNODAL Church as a people journeying together. This workshop aims to provide a vehicle to encourage and grow our active participation.

Preparation for the Workshop - Think and Pray

Before the workshop, you will be given pointers and some inspirational sources but it will require you to think and pray through your particular vision and how it can be shared.

Anticipated Outcome from the Workshop

The workshop provides an opportunity to devise a course of action by which each of us might contribute to the build up of what we desire. We hope that each of us will go away with our particular ACTION PLAN. Expect a time of silence along with an option to share your decision to stand and speak up.

"...the future of humanity lies in the hands of those who are strong enough to provide coming generations with reasons for living and hoping."
