Rosemary Goldie Lecture 2018
September 12, 2018On Sunday 9 September, Catalyst for Renewal and The Grail in Australia hosted the 2018 Rosemary Goldie Lecture in Sydney.
John Allen Jr., a leading American journalist specialising in Vatican affairs, spoke about Pope Francis' efforts for reform, and the implications for the Australian Church's upcoming Plenary Council.
According to Patricia Gemmell, the lecture was a thoughtful and balanced reflection on what the Plenary Council might look like, given recent Synods in Rome. In concluding, he encourages us to engage with the processes of the Plenary Council rather than making up our minds in advance that it will fail. Our engagement may make all the difference.
